LUISA KASALICKY and SONIA LEIMER present a jointly conceived installation under the title vokuhila in the Login and in the project space, whose narrative strands are generated by the merging of the disparate formal vocabularies of both artists.
Luisa Kasalicky works in the border area of installation, painting and sculpture and combines constructivist stylistic elements with baroque ones. Through the arrangement of simple forms, narrative arrangements emerge that are reminiscent of baroque stages and can be understood as a reaction to the medial homogenization of visual image production in photography and film of the present. Kasalicky follows intentions of material justice in her use of building materials and raw materials of everyday culture such as polystyrene, bitumen sheets, wood, tiles, and synthetically produced carpets. On the one hand, the materials she uses are to be seen as childhood-related and cultural-anthropological relics of the 1970s and 1980s; on the other hand, the fabrics used possess a painterly value through their respective specific color, texture, and materiality and emphasize tactile qualities. The motifs, some of which are large in scale, speak of a desire for a clear formal language that retains a baroque pull toward the sublime despite the earthiness of the materials used. Ornament also finds its way into Kasalicky's working world as a creative possibility and a tribute to craftsmanship.

In her artistic work, Sonia Leimer deals with space and time as categories of reality construction. In her cross-media work, the artist negotiates questions about the foundations of our perception, which are formed on the basis of individual, historical, and medially shaped patterns of experience. In doing so, she combines elements from the fields of film and architecture and links a conceptual approach with a partly minimalist formal language. The materials Leimer takes on are characterized by the meanings implicit in their context, but change their status in the transformation process of the work. The categories of space and time as well as the question of the meaning of the material in the context of its conceptual treatment intertwine in a complex manner in Sonia Leimer's artistic practice, which is also characterized by its openness to interpretation and multifaceted points of connection.
